Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities 12 months FTC Hertfordshire

Our client is currently recruiting for a Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities to join their NHS team on a 12 month FTC. The role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of an effective estate strategy together with providing the professional leadership and operational management across their portfolio.

Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities;

  • Lead the Estates and Facilities team and to manage, motivate and develop staff so as the maintain the highest level of staff morale
  • Deliver effective appraisals and personal development plans for all staff in line with best practice
  • Lead on performance management, recruitment and development of the Estates and Facilities staff, and managing disciplinary and capability issues
  • Responsible for keeping land and property in good repair, maintaining backlog maintenance risk register whilst creating and maintaining a safe, suitable and attractive environment
  • Accountable for all aspects of design, project management, procurement delivery and commissioning of capital development projects
  • Responsible for the strategic development, business planning, operational delivery, performance standards and regulatory compliance of facilities and environment services
  • Interpret and comply with relevant legislation, regulation and best practice guidance
  • Accountable for all financial, contract, business and performance aspects

Essential criteria of the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities;

  • Relevant professional qualification and expertise gained within the field
  • Experience at either Director/Deputy Director level or Senior Manage in either a public or private sector organisation
  • Successfully manage a large scale complex NHS environment
  • Full UK Driving licence and DBS
