An exciting opportunity for a HSSE Manager to join an environmental start-up company.  Have you experience in construction projects, CDM and working with the principal designed?

Role

The HSSE Manager will provide Client leadership and advice on all matters associated with Health, Safety & Environmental requirements for the Project.  You will play an important role in the Client Project Execution and Operation Teams.

A key function of the role will be to ensure that all Contractors carry out their works safely and in full compliance of current legislation in a manner that creates a positive atmosphere and safety culture.

Responsibilities

•          Oversee all aspects of HSSE on for the project execution and commercial operations.

•          Ensure all HSSE obligations and regulations under current law and good practice.

•          Produce HSSE documentation - Health and Safety Plan, Fire Plan and Environmental/ Waste Management Plan

•          Be conversant and ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO 45001.

•          Review and comment on safety documentation and procedures produced by the Principal Contractor.

•          Carry out internal and Contractor safety Audits and report.

•          Analyse all health and safety data and produce Monthly HSSE reports.

•          Chair Monthly HSSE meetings with the Principal Contractor and Contractors to encourage a collaborative approach.

•          Conduct regular HSSE walkdowns with the Principal Contractor, Contractors and Stakeholders as and when required.

•          Lead communications with external UK authorities.

 

Ideal candidate.

•          Proven experience of working in a similar role for the Chemical Process/Energy or Industrial sectors.

•          An in-depth understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation and best practices.

•          NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications (preferably to diploma level)

•          Experience of working on multi discipline construction sites

•          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence.

•          Some Operational HSSE experience is desirable, though not essential.
