Looking for a new challenge? Are you a qualified teacher that likes working in KS1?

Zest is working with a 'good’ primary school in Swadlincote who are recruiting for a Year 1 teacher to work 5 days a week. The role is due to start in September for a maternity leave cover position.

The popular two form entry primary school is continually improving and looking to provide all children with strong life skills with training and development support for all staff. Whilst being in a diverse community, the school aim to make positive contributions to the wider community and ethos of the school. Due to being part of a multi academy trust, the school have excellent staff retention rates due to the support systems in place.

The successful candidate must:

  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils in a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes whilst planning to build upon emerging needs.
  • Have clear rules and routines to manage behaviour effectively.
  • Hold a valid QTS.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of personal and professional conduct.

A small amount of planning will be expected; however, you will be given sufficient time to complete this during the school week. You will be expected to complete all marking and attend staff meetings during your time.

The pay for this role is subject to experience, ECT’s and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
