We have an opportunity for a phone-based Sales Advisor to join the UK’s leading distributor of decorative surfaces within their sales office in Swindon. This is a full time, permanent Sales Advisor role working Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm with a salary of upto £25,000 plus annual bonus, 31 days annual leave including bank holiday, pension and life assurance as well as free parking onsite!As Sales Advisor, you will report into the Sales Office Manager working in a team of 3 others, dealing with customer enquiries and orders in an effective and proficient manner. You will ensure all customers are given product information and proactively sell other products as required as part of the call. You will produce quotations and liaise with the customer in follow up to this. Regularly communicating with the warehouse is part of the role to ensure stock availability for orders minimizing transfers between branches. Your key responsibilities as Sales Representative will include:
  • Ensuring all orders are processed accurately and on time, in full.
  • Ensure customer quotations and customer correspondence are completed in a professional manner.
  • All cash handling must be dealt with in line with company policy.
  • Achieve sales and margin targets of the branch.
  • Target new customers.
  • Follow up all enquiries.
  • Ensure that all held orders are chased and customers contacted for payments.
  • Order back-to-back stock in line with company policies.
  • Help out with stock take.
  • Non stock and stock purchasing.
  • Minimise stock transfers between branch and CDC by following 4x procedures.
  • Complete all sales reports as required, i.e. footfalls, lost orders etc…
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • A minimum of 6-12 months experience within a phone based sales role is required (trade counter sales or customer service also considered)
  • Any experience from building, construction, trade, distribution or manufacturing will be advantageous
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport over the phone
  • Ability to problem solve
