Are you passionate about supporting children with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have the compassion and skills to help them overcome learning barriers in an inclusive environment? We have an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant primary school in Tewkesbury as a Behaviour Support Assistant.

This friendly school seeks a dedicated and empathetic individual to support students across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. You'll help children manage emotions, develop positive behaviour, and engage in learning.

Academics Ltd is looking for someone with experience or a strong interest in supporting children with behavioural challenges. You'll provide 1:1 and small group support, working closely with staff to foster positive behaviour and emotional development.

Role Details:

  • Behaviour Support Assistant

  • 85 - 100 per day (depending on experience)
  • Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term time only)
  • Required (or willingness to apply)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with challenging behaviour and SEND, helping them to regulate their emotions and engage in learning.
  • Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to support children in overcoming behavioural challenges.
  • Work with teachers and staff to foster a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a positive, proactive way.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to create and review personalised plans for each child.
  • Support children during lessons, breaks, and other activities to ensure their emotional well-being and safety.

What We're Looking For:
We are seeking someone who is patient, empathetic, and flexible, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and constructively. Experience working with children with challenging behaviour or in SEND settings is highly desirable, but we also welcome applicants with a strong passion for supporting children and a commitment to learning and development.
