37.5-hour week flexible start 8.30am or 9am start

This position will suit an experienced Production Chemist for our leading client based near Thatcham, Berkshire.

  • You will have practical experience of working in a similar manufacturing or formulation environment (Quality Control, test laboratory etc) We are open on industry sectors.
  • Experience with various instrumental laboratory test techniques is an advantage, but understanding the principles of voltammetry would be a bonus.
  • You will be degree qualified or qualified by experience in a chemistry or suitable scientific related subject.

Production Chemist & Lab manager Job Description

Reporting to our Head of Operations, you will work closely with our production and warehouse team. You'll be hands on, working on a variety of reagent preparation and production processes, and whilst managing our laboratory.

Your role is office hours as a standard, but we may need you to be flexible in certain circumstances.

In your role, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manufacturing of all chemical compositions in accordance with manufacturing instructions.
  • Goods inwards inspection of bought in components where applicable.
  • Research and development of new chemical test methods.
  • Validation of new products and formulations prior to product launch.
  • Manufacture and assembly of components and products ready for sale including printing of instruction manuals, labels, and accompanying QC documents.
  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory and demo equipment.
  • Collation of stability trial data for in house manufactured chemicals.
  • Final test and QC of environmental test equipment.
  • Failure analysis of environmental test equipment.
  • Dangerous Goods Packaging (training can be provided).
  • Monitor product quality against product specification with production.
  • Complete appropriate documentation and ensure your records are complete.
  • Maintain all necessary records including batch and raw materials stocking.
  • Any other responsibilities as may reasonably be requested.
