We are looking to recruit an Area Fundraiser to grow income and maximise opportunities across the Hambleton and Richmondshire area. The role will involve proactively acquiring new donor and volunteer support to agreed targets, plus building and developing relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and volunteers by providing excellent stewardship. The role will also involve identifying opportunities to raise awareness of the charity such as giving talks, attending local networking events, delivering assigned campaigns and street and store collections across the area.

This is a busy and varied role which will include travelling across the area and evening and weekend work so strong organisational and time management skills are key. We are looking for an inspiring and motivated team player focussed on delivering income who will pro-actively seek new ways to provide excellent supporter stewardship and maximise fundraising opportunities.

Job Description

Area Fundraiser- Hambleton and Richmondshire

Job Purpose

The Area Fundraiser will be responsible for generating and growing income across Hambleton and Richmondshire as well as maximizing our brand presence. This will be achieved by building and developing relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and volunteers. The role will also involve pro-actively seeking new opportunities such as delivering talks, attending local networking events, coordinating assigned campaigns and street and store collections across the area.

Key Tasks

Operational

  • Engage, support and steward supporters throughout their fundraising journey.
  • Build and develop existing relationships with key individuals, groups and businesses in the area, with a view to increasing visibility, engagement and fundraising activity.
  • Cross-functional working with other teams to seek opportunities to deepen supporters' engagement, working towards shared goals and supporting colleagues with specific projects as appropriate.
  • Establish, support, and co-ordinate a network of local volunteers and volunteer fundraising groups, supporting them to proactively organise events and campaigns.
  • Recruit, support and supervise volunteers for community-based fundraising events and activities, ensuring they have a positive experience throughout their volunteering journey.
  • To represent the North Yorkshire Hospice Care brands by attending cheque presentations and events to thank supporters.
  • Ensure activities are warmly recognized through effective methods of acknowledgement and further communication with supporters to ensure future opportunities are realized. further support and repeat events.
  • To deliver presentations to businesses, community groups and schools to a high standard, with a view to raising awareness, and increasing engagement.
  • Manage all elements of street and public collections, ensuring all administrative and legal requirements are adhered to.
  • Support the delivery of multiple fundraising events, activities, and campaigns, ensuring donors have a positive experience by the effective use of our CRM database, personalising stewardship, and communication touchpoints.

Strategic

  • To support the Community and Events Manager in delivering strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of income and expenditure plans for the Community Support team and monitor and report regularly on assigned budgets, income forecasts, and variances.
  • To review and improve all fundraising activities to ensure the best use of volunteers, resources, and systems to deliver our objectives.

Financial

  • Achieve agreed fundraising targets and income, through new and existing community supporters.

Regulatory

  • To embed the organisation's values into your working practices.
  • To carry out all duties in accordance with the law, Fundraising Code of practice, Data Protection Regulations, the Hospice philosophy, and the Hospice policy on equality of opportunity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • To undertake relevant training and professional development to remain at the forefront of industry standards.
  • To promote, protect, and enhance the brand and reputation of NYHC and act as a key ambassador in many settings, including media work and public speaking. Ensuring our name and reputation is positively viewed in the marketplace.
