CNC Machinist / Programmer - Wallingford, South Oxfordshire
Reporting to the Composites Manager, the CNC Machinist / Programmer will be an integral member of a proficient team focused on working with precision CNC programs and producing high-quality composite insert components. Your responsibilities will include programming, setting up, and operating our advanced 3 axis Multicam machine within the composites division. Collaborating closely with our Dry Lay and Infusion teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient production of parts across the line.
Main Duties:
Generate programs and machine plywood and foam components following best practices, utilising provided drawings and CAD files as guidelines.
Help kitting across a range of mould tools to ensure optimisation of material kits and process is achieved.
Creating layout sheets to help setups and machine parameters, ensuring consistent and repeatable results using Fusion 360.
Ensure correct completion of component tracking information and other related documentation to enable batch tracking and traceability of all components.
Monitor and maintain all related tools and equipment in a safe and useable state, work with our facilities team to maintain records of tools and service interval schedules.
Liaise with the Company’s Technical and Quality department as and when required in fulfilment of deliverable targets and with the aim of constant improvement to documentation, process controls and components.
Training of “fill in staff” in new CNC process techniques when necessary, engaging with third party specialists when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 2 year’s experience in CNC programming and machining is required.
A Strong background in Fusion 360 would be of an advantage.
