Our client has a beautiful refurbished and popular tearoom on the outskirts of Aldridge. They are a small, friendly, and professional team whose attention to detail for their guests is second to none.
They are now looking for an experienced Head Waitress/Waiter who has a passion and a desire to create a wonderful experience for all their customers who visit the tearoom.
The role is hands on where you will be interacting with both staff and the tearoom’s daily guests. For your experience and skills, you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and additional benefits.
What we need from you as a Head Waitress/Waiter:
- 12 months Head Waitress/Waiter experience in a similar establishment/sector
- Have a passion for your job and putting the guests at the heart of everything you do
- Provide great customer service in a composed and polite manner
- Able to remain calm and in control at peak times with the ability to manage any complaints should they arise
- Able to supervise, train and motivate a team of staff
- You must be confident, friendly and self-motivated
- Able to take the lead when the owner is away from the business
Desirable:
- Full Driving Licence to occasionally help with food/buffet deliveries, or popping out to the cash and carry
- Cooking/chef experience
What the roles involves:
- Ensure the tearoom is ready for guests prior to opening
- Serving guests and showing them how welcomed they are
- Making coffee using a machine and other hot/cold beverages
- Clearing tables and maintaining excellent levels of cleanliness throughout the tearoom
- Answering phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
- Handling money/card payments, using EPOS tills and record keeping
- Ability to multitask during peak times
- Maintain Health & Safety standards, including COSHH regulations
- Ensure correct food labelling including any allergens (Natasha’s Law)
- Ensure correct storage of food and stock rotation (use by dates)
- Display merchandise so that it is aesthetically pleasing and priced correctly
Training:
- Our client is happy to train on areas where required for the right candidate
Salary/hours: £20,000 per annum. Hours: 30 per week (Monday to Sunday) 9.30am to 3.30pm. 2 days off per week.
