Job Vacancy: ASD Child Tutor

Location:Watford WD19

Hours: 10 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Child Tutor to provide tutoring support for a 9-year-old child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The position requires someone who can commit to 10 hours per week, preferably in 2-hour sessions each day, to assess the child's learning abilities and tailor educational support accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized tutoring support to a 9-year-old child with ASD.
  • Assist with educational activities and exercises tailored to the child's learning needs.
  • Create a supportive and nurturing environment to encourage learning and development.
  • Help manage the child's anxiety and frustrations around communication.
  • Support the child in building essential life skills, including toilet training.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the child's unique learning style and challenges.
  • Monitor progress and communicate regularly with the child's family and any relevant professionals.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD, preferably in an educational or tutoring capacity.
  • Understanding of ASD behaviors, communication challenges, and anxiety management techniques.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust and rapport with children.
  • Knowledge of KS1 learning levels and curriculum.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching strategies based on the child's individual needs and progress.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of the child and their family.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with the child's family and support network.

Additional Information:

  • The position requires an ASAP start.
