Mechanical Design Engineer urgently required to work in a lead and specialised manufacturing organisation based in Woking. You will be working n the design of a number of specialist products for customer projects. You will be producing concept model drawings of fabricated products in sheet metal, steel and aluminium using Autodesk Inventor and Vault. Working to and breaking down the customer specification into accurate designs to suit requirements accordingly.

We are looking for a skilled designer with a knowledge and understanding of designing structures, adjustable, movable parts and components used in a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce manufacturing drawings (parts and sub-assemblies) from Autodesk Inventor models, including welded fabrication and manual assembly.
• Work on Solid Works format and AutoCAD 2D drawings and import them into Autodesk Inventor system.
• Liaise with customers to have a deep understanding of what they need and if necessary, visit costumer site to take details and measurements, ensuring they are meeting the requirements.
• Ensure verification and validation of the project is recorded accordingly.
• Ensure the documentation and data are all in correct storage.
• Raise any issue to the Senior Design Engineer.

Qualification/ Experience required:

• Mechanical Engineering design with great experience of sheet metal and fabricated parts and components
• Experience using SolidWorks, Inventor
• Experience with PLM systems such as Vault, Siemens NLX, Teamcentre would be an advantage.
• Basic structural design experience
• Knowledge of production techniques such as Welding and Fabrication and assembly techniques.
