Production Operations Manager vacancy with a growing manufacturer in Worksop. As the manufacturing site lead you will be responsible for the extrusion department, blow moulding and all production output.

My client is a plastics manufacturing business who recycle and reuse plastic pellets into finished products. They supply a growing range of products to an international customer base and having experienced continued growth in recent years, they are looking to bring in a driven individual to strengthen their leadership team and continue their ongoing success.

This forward-thinking business is looking for a Production Manager with an understanding of the plastics industry to help propel the business forward and continue the company's recent growth.

Description

The Production Operations Manager will have day to day responsibilities for:

  • Managing a multi-skilled team by coaching, motivating and developing individuals with the use of appraisals, one -to-one meetings and setting SMART goals
  • Implementing and monitoring of daily, weekly and monthly KPI metrics aligned to customer demand and operational strategy
  • Creating and implementing best practice in manufacturing polices, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and leading on all change activities to drive efficiency and productivity improvements throughout the business
  • Ensuring behavioural based safety throughout the production and warehouse departments

Profile

Successful candidates will have a strong plastics extrusion manufacturing background and a proven ability in leading and developing teams. You will also have:

  • Extensive knowledge of the plastics manufacturing industry is essential, experience of extrusion and blow moulding would be desirable
  • Demonstrable background in H&S, lean manufacturing and people management
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement idea creation and implementation
  • Understanding of production planning, scheduling and ERP system
