Due to expansion, a leading manufacturer of complex engineering solutions has a new vacancy for a Technical Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for leading a small team and working closely with customers developing new methods and process improvements on engineered components and chemical processes. Candidates are sought with a high level of mechanical or chemical engineering knowledge gained within a highly regulated industry.

Commutable from: Wrexham, Chester, Crewe, Whitchurch, Oswestry.

Salary: 42,000 - 50,000 p.a. + benefits

Suitable for: Technical Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Chemical Engineer.

The Role

Support R+D, automation, product development initiatives, through liaison with suppliers, customers, manufacturing and sales team.

Produce specifications for new products.

Organise the production of trial material to appropriate inspection and test plans.

Keep abreast of technological changes & customer requirements.

Develop new and existing processes, through trials, in order to meet customer requirements.

Assist in the management of projects aimed at the improvement of existing equipment.

Contribute towards the development and implementation of ideas aimed at the continued improvement of production performance, output, quality and waste reduction.

Ensure the maintenance, regular review and development of the processes and equipment.

In conjunction with Operations and Quality, develop and maintain records library.

Lead the problem resolution and embody zero defect tools for internal and external Quality issues. Liaise with customers to resolve quality-related issues.

Manage and Lead internal audits and co-ordinate External Quality Audits.

Deputise for Plant Manager when required.

The Candidate

Degree in Engineering, Materials or Chemistry

Experience within a fast-paced, aerospace, precision engineering or complex manufacturing environment.

Experience of managing a team and resolving supply chain issues

Quality Improvement knowledge and experience

Excellent proficiency in the use of disciplined problem-solving tools and techniques.

Ability to make decisions and resolve problems.

Ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure.
