Overview

Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Compliance Manager to assist a Technical Management Team and contribute to the smooth operation of compliance activities, ensuring adherence to legal, external, and internal audit standards. This includes overseeing the implementation and supervision of food safety compliance within the company. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with various regulations and processes concerning health and safety, bird welfare, food protection, regulatory requirements, contracts, and overall business operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Compliance Manager

  • Establish controls and standards for the food industry in collaboration with management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements such as Food Safety, Microbiological testing Criteria, and Animal Welfare.
  • Coordinate internal audits and assist in 3rd party or retailer visits/audits.
  • Collate non-conformances and enforcement actions for trend analysis and improvement.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors and management on compliance issues.
  • Support NPD with label signoffs and customer/supplier communication.
  • Analyse performance data and provide training content with the Technical and Training Managers.
  • Ensure understanding and implementation of standards by supervisory staff.
  • Maintain a balance between food safety and quality in Supervisors' KPIs.
  • Drive a culture of quality and food safety within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, legality, integrity, and Bird Welfare.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with customer requirements and codes of practice.
  • Assist in compliance training and support HR initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of teamwork and promote employee engagement.
  • Identify methods to improve communication within and between departments.
  • Adhere to H&S legislation and promote a safety culture.
  • Report incidents and ensure the use of protective clothing and equipment.
  • Drive Health and Safety initiatives to exceed targets and standards.
  • Monitor and maintain H&S systems and procedures.
  • Utilise continuous improvement techniques to achieve operational excellence.
  • Optimise energy usage and reduce the carbon footprint.
  • Maintain Bird Welfare standards and liaise with the site OV on FSA compliance.
  • Carry out any reasonable duty requested within the role.

Requirements for the Compliance Manager

  • Minimum of 1 years experience in a similar legal compliance/facility role.
  • Background in the food industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in analysing legislation and adapting accordingly.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HACCP and BRC guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and demonstrate full commitment.
  • Familiarity with food legislation.
  • Prior experience or management in Poultry Processing is desirable.
  • Food Safety Level 3 certification is desirable.
  • Understanding of Animal Welfare legislation is desirable.
