A global manufacturing organisation near Bolton are currently looking for a Senior Production Planner to join their Supply Chain team on a permanent basis.


This is a varied and fast paced position involved in preparing, managing, and delivering the production schedule in line with customer demand and manufacturing capacity.


The key tasks involved in the position include:


  • Work with the Supply Chain Manager to produce a production plan that is realistic and measured, considering production constraints and engineering requirements
  • Responsible for collating, verifying, and analysing statistical data for planning and management
  • Setting up work orders and manufacturing BOM’s into the MRP system
  • Supporting the commercial, shipping and logistics functions with any data required to successfully complete the production schedule
  • Manage the Production Planner and act as deputy to the Supply Chain Manager in their absence.


To be considered for the position candidates will have proven experience in a Planning function within a fast paced manufacturing environment and experience using ERP/MRP systems. You will need excellent communication skills both verbally and written as well as proficient IT skills (MS Word/Excel/Outlook). A formal technical or business qualification would be an advantage.


The position is office based Monday to Friday on a 37 hour week with flexibility on start and finish times. Benefits include 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays, private healthcare and x1.5 match pension.
