We are currently looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to join our M&S Clothing & Home operation at Bradford. You will ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial accounts and develop strong business relationships with operations and commercial teams, through involvement in decision making and performance reporting.

This role is being offered on a full-time, 12month fixed term basis. The hours of work are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. Your start time is flexible between 08:00 and 09:00 to suit you, there is also some flexibility to work from home 1 day per week once you are established within the role.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Create and maintain reports, provide analysis for the management team and ensure robust financial controls are in line with SOX compliance standards
  • Lead, manage and coach a small team of finance assistants to achieve expectations - you will bring the team together ensuring everyone is working towards a common goal, in order to service multiple contracts for M&S onsite
  • You will be responsible for the management accounts, ensuring they are produced to the appropriate standard and providing support to the finance assistants where necessary
  • Ownership of the month end process including balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring adequate controls are in place

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Proven finance experience in a fast paced, dynamic warehousing or logistics environment
  • Experience in producing financial reports and analysis with meaningful commentary
  • Experience in building strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be an effective influencer and communicator, able to positively engage, challenge and empower others
  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent as a minimum, consideration will be given to substantial QBE
