Youth Worker

Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

As part of our commitment to supporting our students, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to join our team.

As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support, guidance, and encouragement to our students. Working closely with our staff, you will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with students, offering mentorship, counselling, and assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Build positive relationships with students and provide one-on-one support as required.

Conduct group sessions focusing on topics such as mental health, peer relationships, and personal development.

Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to identify students who may benefit from additional support and develop tailored intervention plans.

Support students in developing essential life skills, such as problem-solving, communication, and decision-making.

Act as a liaison between students, parents, and external support services when necessary.

Organize and facilitate extracurricular activities and events aimed at promoting social interaction and personal growth.

Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience working within a school or community setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.

Knowledge of adolescent development, mental health issues, and effective intervention strategies.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
