Facilities Person

Location: Perth, Scotland

Are you a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for maintaining a clean and safe environment? Our client, based in Perth, is currently seeking a Facilities Person to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient running of operations and to develop new skills through comprehensive training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general maintenance activities in and around the site in line with business requirements.
  • Perform general janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Clean key safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire exit signage, and keep clear ways to uphold safety standards.
  • Conduct cleaning and painting of factory surfaces as required to maintain a clean and professional environment.
  • Operate cleaning machines such as ride-on floor scrubbers, vacuums, and leaf vacuums efficiently and safely.
  • Empty skips, scrap bags, recycling bins, and manage cardboard baling to support waste management efforts.
  • Empty settlement tanks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform specific hygiene tasks, including cleaning canteen fridges, first aid rooms, and operating sanitising machines as required.
  • Implement 5S improvements under the direction of the Line Manager to enhance efficiency and organisation within the facility.

Additional Information:

  1. Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Thursday from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm (with a 30-minute unpaid break), and Friday from 8:15 am to 1:15 pm (no break).
  2. Interviews: Interviews will be held on site.
  3. Person Specification: We are seeking candidates with a good work ethic, reliability, trustworthiness, and the ability to work without supervision. Experience in general maintenance, even if it's DIY, is beneficial but not essential.
  4. Training Opportunities: Willingness and ability to undergo on-the-job training for Counterbalance Forklift License (provided by the client) and MEWP License (provided by the client).
  5. Salary: Hourly paid rate of £12.50 - £13.50 DOE.
  6. Start Date: Immediate start available.
