Server & Cloud Engineer - Darlington (remote)

An established client of ours in the Healthcare sector is looking for a Server & Cloud Engineer to join their internal IT department, on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will respond to resolving 3rd line monitoring data centre and cloud compute and storage environments.

This is a remote based role, you will have to visit the main office once a month so applicants must be within a certain radius to be able to travel there.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage data centre, cloud compute and storage environments.
  • Proactively manage core, centralised and distributed technology with a view to ensure persistent connectivity for mission critical services.
  • Ensure all technology domains, components and services are secure and operated within the prevailing security policies.
  • Provide the advanced technical knowledge required to reactively triage and fix incidents, as Level 3, or maintaining issue logs for ongoing Problem Management
  • SLA's / OLA's for all technology services

Skills / Experience required:

  • Server, storage & networking hardware
  • Virtualisation
  • VDI
  • Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery (VMware DRS, Zerto, VEEAM, etc)
  • WAN, LAN & WLAN
  • DNS (Cloudflare, etc)
  • Microsoft Server Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Active Directory, Entra Identity and Compliance
  • Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, etc)
  • Email security (filtering, DMARC/DKIM)
  • Microsoft SCCM
  • Intune and Autopilot
  • Endpoint protection
  • Server hardening
  • Understanding and experience of ITIL and strong customer service focus
